School Council

At Hexthorpe Primary, the school council is an essential part of how we ensure our pupils have a say in their learning, helping children realise they can make a difference in society. Two pupils are voted, democratically, by their class to represent them in a weekly meeting – and we include both KS1 and KS2. A wide variety of topics, issues and fun projects are led by the school council. Some examples of these include: taking assembly on healthy eating and the sugar swap campaign; videoing new playground games to share in circle time; working with the Headteacher on the new dinner menus and having an active role in many of the fund raising whole school initiatives. Check out our weekly minutes to see what we have been up to!
